Brandy+Chris | Family | DC Portrait Photography

I'll admit, I was a little worried heading into this family portrait photography session in DC. Chris and Brandy are photographers as well. And while that can make the session itself go more easily because everyone knows what to expect, it also adds in a bundle of nerves. What if they don't like my work!?

Also, while I LOVE little kids and babies, throwing a 10 month old and a 9 year old into the mix comes with all the usual potential for hiccups. Did I mention it was 100 degrees, with a heat index of 115 and about 50% humidity? In the concrete jungle of DC? Forget how difficult it was going to be for me to shoot in that kind of weather and not die (hydrate!), I was worried about melting the baby like a wax candle left in the car.

However, when I arrived I was immediately won over by how adorable little Aiden and Logan were. I've never seen such a smiley, happy little guy, especially given the heat. Chris and Brandy are so warm and personable, right away I felt like I was taking pictures of old friends. We stuck the the shade as much as possible, and I'm so pleased with how their photos turned out! I love the lush greenery and warm, romantic light ... you'd never guess we were in the middle of Georgetown!

Let’s talk turkey — Lynchburg photographer

It might just be true that David makes the best Thanksgiving turkey ever. Combined with my cornbread and apple stuffing, we did pretty well this year and got to spend several days showing my mom and grandmother around Lynchburg and Charlottesville.…

Bitty baby — Lynchburg baby photographer

I had the opportunity to hang out with this little guy most of Friday. More pictures to come as I edit, these two are just kind of at random from the large stack that has still to be processed, but those dimply cheeks demanded…
