Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden Fourth of July

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden Fourth of July

I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July!

I’ve been rather displaced the past week, with the storm that hit Virginia knocking out power and internet at my place in Staunton for several days. That left my plans changed up a bit for the Fourth. Instead of checking out the hot air balloon rally in Lexington, Dave and I just chilled out in Richmond. (And by chilled out I mean nearly died of heat stroke.)

I managed to talk him into going out to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens to check out the space. The light was terrible, it was 95 degrees and humid, and it was crowded. But I loved it. The space is gorgeous. Before the heat got too much to handle, I did get to check out the butterfly exhibit. Butterflies and orchids. The perfect exotic combination, right in the middle of Richmond.

I’m looking forward to going back when the weather is a bit more forgiving. The entire time I was there I couldn’t help looking around and spotting all the perfect spots for wedding and engagement shots, too. Somebody needs to make that happen ;)
